No Regrets There are times in this life when you simply must trust God. There are times that will test your faith, your resolve, and your love. These times are difficult and challenging. The good news is that God’s Spirit is available to assist us in times like these. Jesus told his disciples that he would not leave them without comfort or help. His words then are also for us today. “And I will ask the Father and he will give you another Advocate to be with you forever,” (John 14:15). Tenebrae Service Good Friday

What is a Tenebrae Service? The word ‘tenebrae’ is Latin for “shadows” or “darkness”. The purpose of the Tenebrae service is to recreate the emotional aspects of the passion story. The object of the service is to recreate the betrayal, abandonment, and agony of the final episodes in the human life of Jesus Christ. The Tenebrae is an ancient Christian Good Friday observance that makes use of gradually diminishing light through the extinguishing of candles to symbolize the events of the Jesus’s final hours from the Lord’s supper, His arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane, the trial, conviction and crucifixion. Easter Sunday Services

New World UMCNews & Events

New World invites you to spend Easter with us. There will be two opportunities for worship. Sunrise Service on the grounds will begin at 7:15am. The Sunday morning worship service begins at 10:30am and included music with the praise team, choir an handbells and a special Easter message titled “The Miracle of Jesus”. Children’s activities and learning begins at 9:00am with breakfast. Come celebrate Easter at New World.
