Guest Speaker: Julia Puac-Romero

Please join us on Sunday April 21 and Welcome our Guest Speaker Julia Puac-Romero.

Julia Puac-Romero, was born in Guatemala, and raised in Louisiana from the age of 3. She was baptized in the Roman Catholic Church of Guatemala, and her parents brought her up in the United Methodist Church.

Julia attended Centenary College of Louisiana for her B.A. in Sociology where she also received her call to ministry in the spring of her sophomore year. Julia participated in the Centenary Orchestra all four years, and is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, a national honors music fraternity. Julia attended Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in hopes to pursue Ordination as an Elder in the United Methodist Church.  Julia obtained her Master in Divinity in the spring of 2017 from Garrett. After seminary, she served in the local church for two appointments in the Louisiana Annual Conference prior to moving to Texas to serve in campus ministry at McMurry University (2019-2022) and now MSU TX.

Julia is excited to close out her second year serving as the Director for the Wesley Foundation Campus Ministry of MSU TX and Vernon College. Julia will be licensed as a local pastor to the North Texas Annual Conference this June.

Julia’s favorite non-church related subjects she loves to nerd out on are; learning about cultural foods and traditions, she enjoys watching shows like Grey’s Anatomy, Dr. Who, any Star Wars series, Abbot Elementary, musicals, and all things comic books, both DC & Marvel.
