Dear New World Church Family,

Due to the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Dallas County, Judge Clay Jenkins announced a declaration of local disaster for public health emergency.

Effective at 11 a.m. Friday, March 13th to 11 a.m. on Friday, March 20th, residents are prohibited from community gatherings of more than 500 people. While this would not prohibit us from gathering on Sunday, Judge Jenkins went on to strongly recommend limiting gatherings to no more than 25 people.

While worshipping together is vital to our life together as Christians, we are also aware of the serious nature of this virus and must utilize the wisdom God gives us to act wisely.

**Therefore, we will not hold our regular worship services on Sunday, March 15th or March 22nd at New World Church.**

Also, we will not meet with Rev. Carol Montgomery on Monday, March 16th and will reschedule our time with her for a later date.

There will be a message live streamed at 11:15 a.m. on our Facebook page this Sunday. I invite you to join us online and invite your family and friends to follow New World on Facebook.

Please remember that we also worship in our giving. You may give your gifts online at newworldumc.org. Once you are on our page, click the button that says “serve,” then scroll down and select “serve through giving” which will take you to our online donation button. We also have giving by text to 940-394-0763. You may also mail in your offering or drop it by the church at another time.

We will continue to monitor this situation and will communicate with you regarding next steps as soon as possible. Please share this information with any member you know who does not communicate online.

I want to thank you in advance for your faithfulness. My prayer is that we are not controlled by fear but comforted and strengthened by our faith. Let us continue to be in prayer together for each other, for our community, and for the world God has called us to love and serve.
