See All the People
“We have to see all the people God has called us to reach and this becomes the foundation of effective ministry.”
Rev. Junius Dotson, Engaging Your Community: See All the People
I want to remind you of our Leadership Retreat on Saturday, January 25th from 9:00 -2:00 at New World Church. Our focus for this retreat will be “Seeing All the People.” We are going to be in conversation about how God has called us to engagement in the community. We will focus on our “why,” that is who we are called to serve and how we engage in meaningful ways with the community that surrounds New World. I hope you will make plans to attend this important day of dialogue, fellowship, fun, challenge and learning.
One of our speakers will be Rev. Andrew Fiser from the North Texas Conference. Rev. Fiser is the Associate Director of Missional Outreach. He will be with us to talk about understanding diversity and addressing issues of race and culture in connecting with new people. As a congregation, we are poised to connect with the diverse neighbors around us to encounter the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them. Self-awareness and understanding can help us be equipped to connect to the people God has placed in front of us. If you have any questions for him prior to Saturday you can contact him at [email protected]
It is my prayer that you will be present for this impactful time together. Leaders are specifically encouraged to be present however, all members are welcome. Please bring $6.00 for lunch and an open heart and mind. I look forward to spending this time with you.
Grace & Peace,
