I was reading a book once and the author talked about living in “the state of overwhelm.” I think I know where that state is located. Let’s face it, life can be challenging and stressful and feel unmanageable at times. I’m sure the state of overwhelm has many visitors. Frankly, I’d like to cancel my reservation though I’m not quite sure how to accomplish this. Perhaps we begin by remembering we do not travel alone. Christ is present with us even in the state of overwhelm. He offers his peace, his strength and his love to life’s weary travelers. Perhaps we should take him up on what he offers. I might not have all the answers for my hectic life, but what I do have is the peace that comes from knowing Jesus is with me no matter what state I live in.
