Change

It’s been said that it’s a woman’s prerogative to change her mind. I’d like to suggest that this is not just for women. Changeability is a good thing, maybe even a necessity. Sometimes we get stuck in old patterns and behaviors that desperately need to change. Change begins in your mind. The truth is, your actions won’t change until your thinking changes. Maybe God has been waiting for you to change your mind. Maybe that’s what is needed so the fresh wind of the Spirit can recreate, rejuvenate and restore. Maybe that’s why the Apostle Paul wrote, “whatever is true, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” (Phil 4:8). As Christians, God gives us the power to change our thinking. Our new life in Christ makes all things possible. Maybe it’s time to change your mind.

Some thoughts to help:

  • Think about what you’re thinking about (2 Cor. 10:5)
  • Don’t dwell on the negative (Phil 4:8)
  • Meditate on God’s word (Joshua 1:8)
  • Develop a lifestyle of prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29)
