Are you Serving?
It's a new year, and time to think about where God
is leading you to spend your time and talents at
New World UMC.
There are many committees that can use you;
you may want to try out several to see where God is leading you.
There is always a need for Sunday School
teachers and not just for the kids. A fresh look at
new topics is always welcome. Even if you just
want to provide the idea for someone else to
teach, that would be helpful.
Contact Cindy Galbraith, Sunday School
Superintendent, at 972-840-9234 to find out what opportunities are
available.
If you have an artistic flair and want to
help with posters, or all things creative, contact
Janet Gilmore,
Communications Team leader, at 972-485-8426 to see where there
might be an opportunity to serve.
If you have a
heart for missions, you can contact
Scott Shipley, Missions,
at 972-463-7898 to see what great project he has
lined up next.
We do have a need for a Single Adult Ministries
chairperson. Our singles are an important part of
the church, and we need to reach out to them and
provide them with activities and support. |

Angel Food Ministries
- See New Navigation Button
Angel
Food Ministries offers great food at a low cost each month for
those in the church and the community. Each
box of food will feed a family for about one week or a single
person for almost one month. The food is grocery store quality
containing no seconds or "day-old" items. This ministry will require teams to process orders, unload
and box food, and be available for help in distributing one day
a month. Please consider becoming a part of this ministry.
If you would like to help in any way with this ministry,
please contact Kay Horne at 972-840-9711 or the church office at
972-279-6145. |

Sunday Morning Fellowship
As
everyone knows by now, we have moved across from the parlor and
downsized, so that now we only need (1) large coffee pot of
coffee; about 3 dozen donut holes (for the kids); and then about
3-4 dozen of whatever you want to bring (i.e. donuts, muffins,
cinnamon rolls; fruit; etc.). OJ is optional. Here are the
Sundays your groups are assigned to furnish the snacks for
fellowship:
- Time Out For Jesus – 6/15
- Family Life Group – 6/22
- Hays Small Group – 6/29
Thank you to everyone for your time and effort in making this
fellowship time fun on Sunday mornings. Remember, if you see a
visitor or a member you haven’t seen in a while, take the time
to invite them to join you for a cup of coffee and a muffin!

No Food or Drink in the Santuary
Please be considerate of the
people who maintain the church (that’s all of us in one way or another) and do not
bring food or drink into the Sanctuary. The Trustees have posted signs on the doors into
the Sanctuary, but please be cognizant of the costs that go into keeping the Sanctuary as
a place of worship.
If you have any questions, see Tony Harris, or any member of the Trustees committee.

Floral Tributes
Remember to sign up to provide flowers on Sundays in the sanctuary. This is a great way to honor
someone's birthday, anniversary, great accomplishment, or memory with a beautiful fresh floral
tribute. The cost of each arrangement is $25.00, payable to the
office in each designated month. The calendar is located outside
the doors of Parlor A and B. You may take the arrangement home after the 11:00 am service or you may
request that it be taken to a retirement home or a
shut-in. If you forget to sign up when you are at
the church, try e-mail.Thanks,
Dawn Kroger, dkroger@flash.net |

Giving Tree
The
John and Skip Shuler Giving Tree decorates the foyer of the new
Ministries Center. This elegant wall sculpture has
a heavy metal trunk with foundation stones at its base and gold
leaves on its branches.
Members may purchase stones or leaves at any time; the tree is
growing already. It is a handsome way to
express our memorials and honorariums, and donations just made out
of love for God’s blessings and our church. Leaves are $250, and
stones are available in three sizes: small, $500; medium, $750,
and large, $1000.
For further information, contact Bill Hindman at 972-279-5698 or the church office at 972-279-6145. |
